Caring for yourself after LipoDissolve (PCDC)

Your LipoDissolve (PCDC) treatment is complete! Here is how to care for the treated area over the coming days so you heal beautifully and get the best possible result.
- ✓Please follow these instructions after your LipoDesolve treatment. If you have any questions, please call our provider at 617- 313 -2723.
- ✓It is normal to feel “firmness” in the injection site the first day after treatment. In some cases, a lumpy formation can be felt on the injected area.
- ✓Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days. A good way to remember this is to massage:
- ✓as soon as you wake up
- ✓at breakfast
- ✓at lunch
- ✓at dinner
- ✓before bed
- ✓Keep the bandage or binder on the injected area as directed at least for 2 days to 4 weeks after treatment.
- ✓After twelve (12) hours, you can use Arnica gel as a base for the massage. Arnica topically will help your body heal from bruising and swelling. Recommend: Arnica Montana up to 7 days after each treatment to decrease bruising and inflammation.
- ✓Do not wash the treated area or take a shower for at least 24 hours after your treatment.
- ✓It is normal to experience the following symptoms, which can last from several hours to seven (7) days, depending on the areas treated and medication used:
- ✓bruising
- ✓redness
- ✓itching
- ✓soreness
- ✓significant swelling
- ✓nausea
- ✓Take Tylenol (Acetaminophen) to help reduce discomfort or soreness, as necessary
- ✓Drink at least 8 bottles of water per day. Continue for one (1) week after treatment.
- ✓Cold or ice compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling up to 24 hours
- ✓Claritin can be used to help with itching if needed.
- ✓For treatment of neck areas, sleep with head elevated (3-4 pillows)
- ✓Optional: Get a lymphatic massage. This will help with absorption of the fat dissolvent
- ✓Avoid strenuous exercises, sunbathing or tanning beds for 48 hours
- ✓Avoid fatty and greasy foods for at least 2 weeks
- ✓avoid Aspirin, Anti-inflammatory drugs, Ginkgo biloba, Garlic, Flaxseed Oil, Vitamin E, Alcohol, spicy food, salty food and cigarettes 48 hours to 1 week after your treatment
- ✓Do not use any lotions, creams or make-up on the treated area for twelve (12) hours after your treatment.
- ✓Do not take any supplements until 48 hours after your procedure.
- ✓Avoid sun exposure for at least 48 hours after your treatment.
- ✓Avoid exercise for 48 hours – exercising causes you to sweat, which will decrease the effect of the solutions that have been injected into your tissue.
