Getting ready for your VI Peel treatment

✦✦✦

Thank you for choosing Aida Medical Aesthetics. Please read these instructions carefully before your VI Peel appointment — a little preparation helps you get the most beautiful, comfortable result.

  • ✓VI Peel is a painless medium-depth that is safe for all skin types with results in as little as 7 days. This treatment can improve the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation or darkening of skin, acne, and uneven skin texture, but certain pre-treatment precautions are necessary to ensure a safe treatment and optimize results.
  • ✓If you’re considering a VI Peel, it’s important to know what not to do before your treatment. Here are some things you should avoid before receiving a VI Peel:

Sun exposure

  • ✓It’s crucial to avoid direct sun exposure for at least two weeks before your peel. Sunburned or tanned skin can be more sensitive and prone to damage during the treatment or hyperpigmentation afterwards. Additionally, UV exposure can interfere with the effectiveness of the peel and cause uneven results.

Retinoids and exfoliants

  • ✓Any products containing retinoids or exfoliating agents, such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide, should be stopped at least one week before your peel. These ingredients can cause excessive dryness, redness, or irritation during and after the treatment.

Waxing and threading

  • ✓Avoid any hair removal methods that involve pulling the skin, such as waxing, threading, or depilatory creams, for at least five days before your peel. These techniques can cause skin sensitivity and increase the risk of irritation or even scarring after your VI Peel.

Facial treatments

  • ✓If you are undergoing any other facial treatments, such as microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, or laser treatments, schedule them at least one week before your peel. These procedures can also cause skin sensitivity and increase the risk of side effects.

Certain medications

  • ✓Inform your medical provider if you’re taking any prescription medications, such as antibiotics or Accutane, or have any medical conditions that may affect your skin’s healing ability. Some medications can increase the risk of complications or interfere with the results of the peel.
  • ✓Following these guidelines can help ensure a safe and effective treatment and maximize your results. Prior to any VI Peel treatment, our provider completes an assessment and reviews your skin health history to ensure you are a candidate for treatment.
  • ✓You will be able to discuss any concerns or questions you have with your esthetician before your VI Peel treatment, and they will provide you with personalized instructions and recommendations based on your skin type, concerns, and medical history. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us at 617-313-2723.
